What People Say
“I support the good partnership IINA has with Mr. Snyder. I will support IINA Solutions. Let’s continue to move forward with this. Together with the Navajo Nation Council, we will continue helping the Navajo people with solar energy.”
Former Navajo Nation President
Even with substantial funds, effort and determination, bringing power to the Navajo people through solar and other renewable technologies is daunting. The climate, remote location, lack of finances and existing housing stock conspire against it.
But the small group of volunteers working on the Plateau Solar Project — a Navajo activist, a contractor, and all the workers they could muster — say they are committed to bringing power to Paula Curtis and others.

Once [solar] has been set up and connected to an elder’s home, they will receive training in basic maintenance of the system. MidNite Solar designed a charge controller with Navajo voice-over for monitoring and alerting maintenance personnel.

I am writing this letter as a sort of update of the services that the Leupp community has been given from IINA Solutions. Some of my clients were fortunate enough to benefit from the solar power grant from IINA Solutions. Some of the benefits of the equipment are the immediate availability of potable and sustainable water.
I am very grateful for the grant and cannot describe the look of satisfaction on those who have received solar and clean water systems through IINA Solutions. An elderly woman who had her lighting fixed was very much excited to show me that her lights were working and flicked it on several times as though a child playing with a new toy. The home is safer, the water is clean and the client is happier and more at ease. These are only a few of the benefits that the solar grant has provided. I hope to see more programs like yours for there is much more to be done, not only in the Leupp area but reservation wide. I’m sure you have already heard this before but on behalf of those elderly who received solar power and water, thank you.
