Most residents haul water as there are no water line to the homes and no potable water sources. There is not enough rainfall for catching rainwater. We are installing a 500-gallon tank to provide a month of drinking water and water for sanitation. We want to install another 1,500-gallon water storage tank. The tanker truck that hauls water had a capacity of 2,000 gallons so we want to haul in the full capacity due to the remoteness of the homes. This saves expense of having to make multiple trips.

Cost of Exterior Rated Storage Tank, Stand Alone Gravity Feed Phase 1 500-gallon pressure tank, concrete and trenching: $4,000 (including labor and Material)

We take clean water for granted in America. Many Navajo elders do not have clean water. They haul water from livestock, windmills, or unclean sources and the water is tainted with E-Coli, Coliform bacteria, and parasites. Many elders suffer from water born diseases, dysentery, parasites, even cholera and typhoid. The livestock and domestic animals also suffer from unclean water. We want to hire a Sanitarian to monitor the water at the residences at least every quarter to make sure it is remains clean for humans and animals. The cost per month is $3,500.We are looking for an individual or group to underwrite this cost.

We want to train Navajo Interns. The unemployment level is over 50%. The interns are from Navajo Technical College and they need lodging, fuel and meals. Please sponsor an Intern at $1,500 per month.
